Please take this chance to nominate your colleagues and administrators for the recognition they so deserve. We know there are many wonderful things happening by school nurses and others around the state and we want to honor them, but need YOUR help! 

Awards available from NMSNA:

School Nurse of the Year Award - The Nominee demonstrates excellence in nursing practice based on School Nursing Practice Roles and Standards.

School Nurse Administrator of the Year Award - The Nominee demonstrates excellence in nursing administration based on Scope and Standards for Nurse Administrators (ANA, 1996).

Community Service Award - Recognizes an individual or organization that promotes the health of school children in New Mexico and has supported the New Mexico School Nurses Association.

Horizon Award - Recognizes a novice school nurse within the first three years of practice who demonstrates the potential for leadership in the profession of school nursing.

Marlene McDowell Award - Recognizes a school nurse who advocates for improved access to health care for children; whose contributions promote the health of school children; and who promotes the goals and philosophy of NMSNA.

Recongition Award - Can be given to any of the following: School nurse for a special project; Individual who has given outstanding service to NMSNA; Individual or organization who has continually supported NMSNA, school nursing or school health services in at least the last five years; Retired nurse with NMSNA.
