Feminine Hygiene Products for Rural NM Schools

Posted about 2 years ago by Becky Ellis

The Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine in Las Cruces, NM has a project that the medical students at the school are interested in sharing with rural school nurses in New Mexico.

Adela Lente, MD, says, "We heard of high school girls being unable to afford feminine hygiene products and we are interested in establishing how many districts are in need and how we can help set-up a distribution for them."

Please contact Dr. Lente with any requests and information. This is a wonderful service they are providing!

Thank you - this would be a great service for our young women. Many of my students live without running water. Purchasing feminine products is an expense they I'm sure they can not afford.
